Senator Mark Warner was on Face the Nation this weekend and he’s pretty sure his party isn’t corrupt. There’s just no convincing some people, no matter how much evidence you have.
The Washington Examiner reports:
Mark Warner: ‘I don’t believe the Democratic Party is corrupt’
Virginia Sen. Mark Warner doesn’t believe the Democratic Party is corrupt after ex-interim chairwoman Donna Brazile alleged there was a bizarre agreement between the party and Hillary Clinton’s campaign that gave Clinton control of the party during the primary.
Warner, a Democrat, said on CBS’ “Face The Nation” his focus for the party is on the gubernatorial election on Tuesday in his home state. Brazile’s allegations haven’t made him worry for the party’s future.
“There is a heck of a lot of enthusiasm. I don’t believe the Democratic Party is corrupt,” he said.
“I believe the Democratic Party is forward-leaning. I think we have that kind of candidate running in Virginia right now. I’m going to leave here, and I’ll crisscross Southwest Virginia to help get out the vote. I hope on Tuesday night we’ll have great victory both from the Virginia standpoint but also sends a message that some of the actions of this president are at least not acceptable in the commonwealth of Virginia.”
