Week six has already passed since the NFL’s new season commenced, and with wide criticism not just by spectators and fans but by Vice President Mike Pence himself, the league is backed up against a wall.
Ticket sales have dropped, viewership has declined, and fans have been giving up favorite teams- you name it, it has been done. However, with all amends implemented within the organization, the San Francisco 49ers’ protests may be changing. stance on national anthem protests.
Mind this, the 49ers have been the most ‘protesty’ team in the league with seven players kneeling still this past weekend. Eric Reid, Adrian Colbert, Dekoda Watson, Marquise Goodwin, Arik Armstead, Eli Harold and K’Waun Williams were the names of the players who didn’t have the courage nor patriotism to stand.
Only week ago, however, around 20 players were kneeling in disobedience and defiance, so some progress has been made nonetheless.
Reid, for instance, has had Colin Kaepernick’s back since the very first ‘kneeling session.’He was also the only player to kneel along Kaepernick in the past season.

Reid noted that Pence’s departure from the stadium was ridiculous, pointing fingers at the current government.
“He knew our team has had the most players protest,” Reid pointed out after the game against the Indianapolis Colts ended.
“He knew that we were probably going to do it again. This is what systemic oppression looks like. A man with power comes to the game, tweets a couple things out and leaves the game in an attempt to thwart our efforts. Based on the information I have, that’s the assumption I made.”
Fans were left enraged, therefore they gave Pence the thumbs up for his move.
The team was also met with boos and whistles by fans at the game, especially the other team’s. To many, these protests were a clear sign of hatred for the anthem, the flag, and America in general. Patriots across America found it quite offensive and took matters into their own hands as a result. Thankfully, the organization sobered up and implemented suitable and much-deserved sanctions.
